The Academy on Dealing with the Past (DwP) Journalism and Conflict Sensitive Reporting
forumZFD – Kosovo Program and the Association of Journalists of Kosovo (AJK) are pleased to announce the opening of applications for the “Academy of Dealing with the Past Journalism and Conflict Sensitive Reporting" for journalists and journalism students. The training sessions aim to equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge required to navigate effectively through reporting on sensitive dealing with past events and conflict situations.
The Academy offers several training modules covering significant topics in conflict-sensitive journalism and dealing with the past:
Module 1: Introduction to Peace Journalism
Module 2: Fake News in Dealing with the Past (DwP)
Module 3: Reporting on Dealing with the Past (DwP)
Module 4: The Role of Media in Reconciliation
How is the training structured?
All four modules will take place in Kosovo (Prishtina) from March 16th to April 27th. There will be four modules. These modules will be facilitated by experts and media professionals with extensive experience in media and Dealing with the Past Journalism and Conflict Sensitive Reporting.
Upon successful completion of the training, participants will receive certificates. Furthermore, participants will have the opportunity to publish one story, podcast, or blog with prominent media portals and will receive financial compensation for their contributions. Additionally, active participation during the modules will enable journalists to attend the regional study visit.
Following the training, participants will be invited to contribute articles to the forumZFD magazine and shorter pieces for the Dealing with the Past (DwP) blog.
Who is eligible to apply?
- Journalists who are legal residents of Kosovo and over the age of 18 at the time of the application.
- Journalists must be employed in the media registered in Kosovo or freelance.
- Students of Journalism, Mass Communication, and Communication Design departments at state or private universities.
