Other threats towards journalists, Ardiana Thaçi Mehmeti, Prishtinë, 12.03.2026
The Association of Journalists of Kosovo (AJK) is deeply concerned after being informed that the personal data of Kiks Kosova journalist Ardiana Thaçi‑Mehmeti — specifically her phone number — was illegally shared in a Discord group with approximately 70,000 members.
On Thursday evening, the journalist received dozens of messages containing explicit sexual content from members of the group. This comes only a few months after Thaçi-Mehmeti reported extensively on a similar Telegram group known as AlbKings Telegram group, where phone numbers and personal data of women were shared with the aim of humiliating and degrading them.
AJK strongly condemns this disturbing online harassment targeting the journalist and considers it a retaliatory campaign linked to her reporting and professional work. AJK expresses its full solidarity with Thaçi-Mehmeti.
AJK calls on the Police and the Prosecutor’s Office to urgently investigate the administrators of this group and take immediate steps to shut it down. AJK also expects that those responsible for initiating and facilitating this harassment will be held accountable before the law.
