Threats against media outlets and organizations Prishtinë, 10.10.2025
At its Thursday meeting, the Central Election Commission (CEC) failed to approve accreditation for a small number of Albanian-language media outlets. Among those denied accreditation are Reporteri.net, based in Pristina, and Mitropol in Mitrovica.
The Association of Journalists of Kosovo (AGK) strongly objects to the CEC’s refusal to accredit these media outlets — a decision made without any legal basis or explanation — and calls on the Election Complaints and Appeals Panel (ECAP) to overturn the CEC’s decision.
The CEC’s decision to deny accreditation to all Serbian-language media, as well as to several Albanian-language and international media outlets, is unlawful, unacceptable, and poses a serious threat to media freedom in Kosovo.
AGK urges the CEC to urgently adopt new decisions that will ensure unhindered work and access for all media teams on election day.
