AJK CONCERNED ABOUT THE ATTACK ON TV SYRI IN GJAKOVA
The Association of Journalists of Kosovo expresses concern and strongly condemns the attack on TV Syri Vision in Gjakovë, where shortly after midnight, an individual entered the television premises using a heavy vehicle, causing significant damage to the newsroom and surrounding facilities.
AGK considers this incident a threat to media safety and freedom of expression, especially on a crucial day for the country's democratic process. Attacks on the media are unacceptable and constitute attempts to intimidate journalists and obstruct their work.
The Kosovo Police have arrested the perpetrator, but the official report did not specify that the vehicle used in the attack was part of the city’s heating system and was unregistered. AGK calls on law enforcement authorities to handle the case with the highest level of professionalism and ensure a safe environment for journalists and media in the country.
