Day 3 of the Kosovo Journalists' Study Visit to Northern Ireland
On Wednesday, we explored the rich history, and heard powerful stories of Derry/Londonderry, starting with a walk over the Pace Bridge, symbolizing the city’s journey towards reconciliation.
After the walk, we were welcomed by Gerard Deane at Holywell Trust, where we learned about the Trust's efforts in promoting peace and community understanding.
The day's highlight was hearing from our guest speaker Richard Moore, who shared his incredible story of forgiveness and reconciliation. Blinded at the age of 10 by a British soldier’s bullet, Richard later met and forgave the soldier who shot him. Both, Kosovo and Northern Ireland delegations were inspired by his messages of healing and reconciliation.
We also had the chance to explore some of the city’s most significant landmarks, including the Derry Walls, Free Derry Corner, the Hands Across the Divide sculpture, and the Derry Girls mural.
