Women in media play a key role in building a more just and informed society. Through their reporting, they bring new perspectives, challenge gender stereotypes, and drive positive change. In this spirit, the Association of Journalists of Kosovo and the Women Journalists Network, in collaboration with the British Embassy Prishtina, UN Women Kosovo, and the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, organized the regional conference "Women Journalists in the Spotlight."

The conference brought together journalists from Kosovo and the region, diplomats, as well as representatives from international organizations and regional networks of journalists to discuss the importance of networking, journalists' safety, and the challenges women in media face.

The conference was opened with keynote speeches from:

  • Xhemajl Rexha, Chair of the Board of the Association of Journalists of Kosovo

  • Vlora Tuzi Nushi, Head of Office, UN Women Kosovo

  • Cornelia Taylor, Acting Head of Mission, OSCE Mission in Kosovo

  • Jonathan Hargreaves, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Kosovo

  • Maja Sever, President of the European Federation of Journalists

  • Jessica Blitt, Non-Resident Ambassador of Canada to Kosovo
