Ukrainian and Afghan Journalists Start Training Program in Transitional Journalism
Yesterday, the Association of Journalists of Kosovo conducted another session of training for journalists residing in Kosovo as part of the Journalists in Residence program.
The training focused on dealing with the past and transitional journalism and was led by lecturer Abit Hoxha, an assistant professor at the University of Agder.
The discussion highlighted the crucial role journalists play in shaping public discourse and promoting a more informed, empathetic, and peace-oriented society.
Journalists, along with Professor Hoxha, were given the opportunity to analyze both local and international media content regarding these topics.
Professor Hoxha also delivered a lecture on transitional justice and emphasized the vital role that journalists play in promoting accountability, justice, and reconciliation. The lecture also addressed the numerous challenges journalists encounter when reporting on transitional justice issues, such as limited access to information, political influences, security concerns, and more.
Journalists in Residence Kosovo program by the Association of Journalists of Kosovo is implemented within the framework of the Voices of Ukraine support program. The program, led by the European Centre for Press and Media Freedom, is part of the Hannah-Arendt Initiative and is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office, and the Government of Kosovo.
