The conference continues with the discussion of the Second Panel: Regional Cooperation through the SafeJournalists Network

Journalists face common challenges across the region, making cross-border cooperation essential for their protection and the strengthening of press freedom. This panel highlighted the importance of the SafeJournalists Network as a supportive mechanism for journalists' safety and addressing threats against them.

The discussion was moderated by Cornelia Taylor, Acting Head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, with the following panelists:

  • Xhemajl Rexha – Chair, Association of Journalists of Kosovo

  • Rade Djuric – Independent Journalists' Association of Serbia

  • Monika Kutri – Researcher, Journalists' Association of Croatia

  • Lajla Zaimović Kurtović – Researcher, Journalists' Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina

  • Neda Chalovska Dimovska – Gender Specialist, Head of Research at SafeJournalists Network

The discussion emphasized the need for concrete action to protect journalists, focusing on awareness, reporting threats, and institutional responses. Only through a unified approach and ongoing cooperation can journalists protect and empower press freedom in the region.
