Call for Application: Award for Best Reporting on Poverty Eradication - 2021
October 17, 2021 marks the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.
This significant day of advocacy presents an opportunity to recognize the effort and struggle of people living in poverty and is an opportunity to hear their concerns. Building a sustainable future requires intensified efforts towards eradicating extreme poverty and discrimination and ensuring that everyone can fully exercise their human rights.
In order to raise awareness about the importance of poverty eradication efforts in the Kosovo context, the Association of Journalists of Kosovo in close partnership with the UN Kosovo Team (UNKT), within the Office of the Development Coordinator, organizes the 16th edition of the annual award "Award for Best Reporting on Poverty Eradication - 2021". This event is also supported by the project "Promotion of decent work through strengthening management of safety and health at work, and social dialogue in Kosovo", which is implemented by UNOPS and funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) through the Swedish Embassy in Prishtina".
The purpose of the Journalism Award for Poverty Eradication is to promote and enhance debate on issues and causes of poverty, and to indirectly influence poverty reduction by putting pressure on decision-makers to change policies.
The call for application is open to all journalists who are legal residents in Kosovo and who covered with their work the issue of poverty eradication in Kosovo.
The winners in the different categories will be awarded a prize of 1,000.00 € (one thousand euro). The categories are:
· Best short video story
· Best TV documentary
· Best audio story
· Best written story
· Best photography
