The training on “Combating Hate Speech in the Media” was held with the first group, who had the opportunity to discuss and be trained on professional and ethical approaches to reporting.

Trainers Gjylbehare Murati and Aleksandra Dimitrijević shared their experience and guided participants on how to identify and avoid hate speech in media reporting.

The training covered topics such as: the definition and forms of hate speech, its impact on society, and the responsibility of the media in preventing and not spreading such language.

An important part of the training also included existing mechanisms for reporting hate speech, the role of relevant institutions, and best practices that support the development of a sensitive and inclusive media approach. Through interactive discussions and group work, journalists were equipped with practical knowledge to strengthen their professional approach and contribute to a more responsible public discourse.

This project is supported by UNMIK.
